Number 1 Price. Almost certainly converting your existing bike will cost less than buying a brand new e-bike from a shop. With that saving you can buy an extra battery to take you even further or for when you forgot to charge the other one.

Number 2 Keep the bike you love. You simply can't bear to part with it but you know that with an e-bike, it may never see the road again. Convert your bike and tackle those hills together, just like you used to.

Number 3 Be nice to the environment. Throwing away a perfectly good bike is wasteful. By converting you are in fact 're-cycling' in a uniquely productive way.

Number 4 Quality. You know your own bike. You may even still be riding it. If it is good enough to ride without a motor, it will be even better with one. The motors we use are trusted and solidly built and they are built for the single purpose of assisting you, with no compromise on quality just to make an e-bike designer's creation look pretty or cutting corners on the bike itself to keep the price down.

Number 5 Power & Torque Our mid-drive motors from Bafang come from one of the largest manufacturers of e-bike motors in the world with it's principal production facility in Suzhou, China as well as plants in Poland and the Netherlands. The Bafang BBS01 250W for example, is both road-legal yet powerful putting out 85NM of torque. Ask the person in the shop what the torque is on one of those lower-priced e-bikes and if it is anywhere near this, we'll be surprised.

Number 6 Long life and serviceability. We only provide motors for which spares are readily available from our suppliers. We also offer a 12 month warranty on all our motors.

Number 7 Greater choice of batteries and charging options. With a converted e-bike you can benefit from having a huge choice of batteries of different sizes, not just proprietary ones which can only fit in the frame of the shop-bought e-bike. Many off the shelf e-bikes are also sold with very small batteries and exaggerated range claims. A bit like a printer; if you use ink refills and the printer software upgrades and spots this, it can refuse to accept the less expensive refills, forcing you to pay more for the brand-specific ink. Same with e-bike batteries. With the right set up, you can even charge your batteries directly from a solar panel without using an inverter. Now that is truly going green!

Number 8 You can choose your specifications. Even if we don't immediately have what you need after we have quizzed you about what you want from your e-bike, we can get it and custom fit it for you; from motor size, display model, battery size and more. After all, this is your bike and you want the best from it.

Number 9 "Re-convertability". After having said all of the above, this may seem an odd reason but it goes back to the origins of your much-loved bike. If, for whatever reason in the future, you have to part company with your bike (it may break, snap, corrode away beyond redemption), you don't have to part with your motor as well. Your motor can be transferred to another bike. You may want to buy another regular bike anyway and put your motor on that instead and convert your original bike back to being a just a regular bike. No need to go and buy an e-bike. You already have one. It's the motor that makes it so.

 

Number 10 Satisfaction. Unlike an off the shelf bike, your bike will be bespoke (pun intended) and totally unique. No one else will have an e-bike quite like yours. You can be pleased that not only did you successfully 're-cycle' a bike which could have been forgotten for years or ended up on the scrapheap but you got out there again, climbing those hills, are getting fitter and getting out and about in a green, environmentally friendly way.
